Pilo Mora is one of the more influential potters to come
out of Barrio Porvenir in Mata Ortiz. He began potting in
1982 with great success. His work is meticulously perfect.
He even makes sure the inside of the ollas are smooth, a
detail some potters ignore. Pilo was losing sight in one
eye until recent surgery corrected the problem. He has
moved back to Mata Ortiz from Nuevo Casas Grande and
is, once again putting out stunning ollas such as this pot.
