Manolo Rodriguez is without question, one of the finest
artist in Mata Ortiz. His magnificent works have been on
display throughout the world. Manolo often creates figures
that are replicas from the Paquime ruins of which this style
of pottery has it's roots. However, rarely does he
incorporate molded figures on his pottery as we have here.
Flaw: I will not soon forget the day I was reaching to
place it on a shelf and snapped the left ear off! The bottom
two pictures show the horizontal crack on the left ear that
has been epoxied back on.
This piece would normally sell for well over $1,000.
