Emilio Molinero Hurtado -Tzintzuntzan, Michoacan
Great Master of Mexican Folk Art

Emilio Molinero Hurtado began working with clay alongside
his father at the tender age of six. It wasn't until after his
father's death and his marriage to wife,
Juana Huipi that
Emilio first discovered remains of some pre-Hispanic ceramics.

Emilio and his family produce
patojo vessels, pots with
pouring spouts or with large handles, and round vessels
which are prized for their beautiful and original forms,
decorated with contemporary treatments of many traditional
pre-Hispanic designs.
Don Emilio is part of the Great
Masters of Mexican Folk Art.
